Two weekends ago, IVD and East Coast News held its seventh annual IVD/ECN Open House. The festivities kicked off Friday night at the Ivy Restaurant where about 80 guests, who flew in for the weekend, were treated to a full course dinner that gave industry leaders a chance to mix and mingle. There was shuttle service to and from the hotel all weekend and everyone left to get just a little sleep before The Main Event began.
Saturday morning the hotel shuttle started ferrying people to the warehouse and business began. The sponsors each had a table set up and an IVD sales rep ready to assist on all the discounts. From toys and novelties from the Adventure LLC line to DVD’s, everything was there from sponsors 3rd Degree, Acid Rain, Adam & Eve/Bad Seed, Afro-Centric/Video Team, Black Ice, Cal Exotics, Doc Johnson, Pipedream, Pleasure Productions, Pure Play Media, Screaming O, Seymore Butts, Topco, Vivid Video, Wicked Pictures, Zero Tolerance and more.
There were also some guest stars from some of the sponsoring companies on the scene, signing autographs and posing for pics with the customers between bargain hunting. Carmen Luvana, Courtney Cummz, Gina Lynn, Katja Kassin, Stormy, Cousin Stevie and Amber Peach were in attendance.
On Saturday night there was an evening pool party for everyone to relax after a day of serious business. Sunday wrapped up the weekend with an even larger crowd of retail vendors emptying shelves of product.
“This show had to be our biggest success ever,” said Open House coordinator Rene R.
“The aftermath of the show is really a crazy week,” said Jereme C., vice president of sales and operations, “our sales and shipping increases by almost 40 percent above normal sales.”
IVD and ECN will be having their next open house this fall at their New Jersey headquarters. “I can’t imagine what could be bigger than this past week’s show,” said IVD publicist Joel Weiner, “but I can’t wait to see us top it.”
