Starlets, Vendors Gather for Adult Supersource Open House

Scores of vendors, starlets and fans gathered for the annual Adult Supersource Open House at the company's headquarters Friday.

David Sturman, the company's president, said he was pleased to see so many of his customers turn out for the day-long event.

"This is really a way for us to show our customers how much we appreciate them," Sturman said of the program, which featured music, food, raffles and a chance for companies to show their latest titles.

"A lot of these companies have been with us a long time and I'm really glad they came out and showed their support."

Among the companies which sponsored a booth at the event, held at the Adult Supersource parking lot, were Vivid, Acid Rain, Jules Jordan Video, Vouyer Media, Platinum Blue, Zero Tolerance, Sin City, Evil Angel, Red Light District, Platinum X, and numerous others.

"I've known David (Sturman) a long time and he always does a great job with this event. A lot of people come out because of him and the great work they do here," said Howard Levine, Vivid's national sales manager.

"It's great for the vendors and it's great for the companies to come out and show what they have."

Sitting next to Levine was Vivid Girl Stefani Morgan, who said she was pleased to see a big turnout.

"I always enjoy seeing the fans. Without them I don't think I'd be here," said Morgan, who faced a long line of fans waiting to get their picture taken with her after arriving just hours earlier from Los Angeles. She stars in Le Kink, set for release next month.

"I'm really a people person and I don't get tired of meeting and talking with fans. I didn't get much sleep last night to get here, but I'm enjoying this."

Veteran director-producer Jules Jordan also had his hands full with potential customers, but managed to say that the program gives him a chance to personally show off his company's lines of gonzo releases.

"This is the first year my company's been independent and I'm excited about showing what we've been able to do," said Jordan, who left Evil Angel earlier this year to distribute his own titles.

"I've gotten some good feedback from people here about my titles... and I'm encouraged," added Jordan, whose next release is P.O.V. Pervert 7, releasing Monday.

Just a short distance away, Spice Studios' sales representative Jason Park was surrounded by retailers and distributors as he touted the company's high-flying Fly Spice line, shot in high definition by veteran director Bud Lee.

"It's a great series that's doing good numbers for us," said Park, as Asian hottie Syren posed for photographers next to him.

"She was really good in it," he added.

"I did three scenes and they were all really hot. I had fun doing that," she quipped.

At the nearby PLatinum Blue booth, buxom blond starlet-turned producer and studio owner, Skye Blue, was getting her fair share of attention from vendors, retailers and fans as they clustered around her and starlet Aradia.

"I'm really excited to see all these people here," Blue said.

"But I'm really thankful to David (Sturman) for putting this together and everything else he's done for us. (Adult Supersource) helped us and guided us in the beginning and I frankly don't know where we'd be without them."

As a distributor and guiding force to many studios over the years, Adult Supersource continued to be an industry leader, Sturman said.

"A lot of it has to do with the fact that we are always working hard to keep our customers happy," he said.

"We listen and we work with them. Because it's about quality of product. We stress that. Because when you put out crap, you're going to get crap."

Peter North, owner of Northstar Associates who also attended the event, echoed Sturman, saying he is keen to listening to vendors and retailers about his products.

"That's why I like events like this. You get feedback and you hear what people think of your product," he said.

Nearby, starlet Katja Kassin, who was signing for Acid Rain, also got some positive feedback for her work from some retailers.

"I love hearing from people and listening to what they have to say about my movies. It makes coming out here fun."

Mitch Spinelli, Acid Rain's owner, also got some good news when some retailers said they need big re-orders of some of his titles.

"Sometimes you just don't know what's going to be big," he said.

But for Red Light's sales representative Michelle Liss, shaking hands and meeting customers is what sales is all about.

"I talked to a lot of people, but there were some that didn't know that much about Red Light and I ended up giving them a lot of information about us and Platinum X and our new labels Candy Shop and Amateur District and they were very interested in what we were doing," she said.

Even novelty maker Swiss Navy's booth was also crowded with potential customers interested in their new pocket-size spray lubricant.

"It just came on the market and it's small enough to fit in a woman's purse and is very discreet looking," Garrett Kanneen, director of product development for Swiss Navy, said.

"People were asking questions and were genuinely interested in their product at their stores."

But for Tony Rankins, Adult Supersource's national sales manager, getting customers together to do business is just one of the advantages of hosting the annual event.

"Our customers love this program," Rankins said.

"One year we didn't do one and boy did we hear it from our customers. They love this event. They look forward to it every year so we make sure its a great event each time."
