Star Case Goes to Jury

A jury began deliberating Wednesday whether Wall Street executive James McDermott helped Marylin Star and another alleged lover of Star's make illegal stock trades. During the course of the trial of James McDermott, Jr., former chief executive officer at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Star was accused of having passed along pillow-talk information that began in June, 1997 about investments to another alleged lover, Anthony Pomponio.

McDermott, 48, and Star, 30, are charged with conspiracy and securities fraud in the case along with co-defendant Pomponio, 45. Star met Pomponio in Atlantic City during the ECVS Convention several years ago
