Adult film star Steven St. Croix has joined Exotic Star Models, marking the first time he has been affiliated with a talent agency in his 13-year, AVN Hall of Fame career.
St. Croix said the adult industry has changed “almost 180 degrees” from when he first started, causing him to adjust how he handles his business as one of adult’s premier leading men.
“The last couple of years there has been a trend, especially for the women, and also for guys as modeling agencies have popped up, to join modeling agencies,” St. Croix told AVN.com. “The reason for it, and the reason for me is through the years I’ve been in the industry, much of my work has been as a result of personal relationships with companies, producers and talent.
"The business has exploded tremendously so there are many new companies and new faces behind the scenes, and a lot of those people who haven’t had personal relationships with talent don’t know who a lot of the big names are."
He continued, “To stay relevant, obviously, I found it in my interest to not only keep doing business the way I’m doing, but also to expose myself to the new faces and people that are in the business today through an agency.”
St. Croix said that he selected Exotic Star because of his strong relations with owners Shelby Stevens and September Dawn.
“I consistently have always been hired for all the features that the larger companies produce,” St. Croix said. “Randy Spears, Evan Stone and I – we’re the go-to guys when it comes to features, couples-oriented features. In addition to that, there are the wall-to-wall and gonzo videos that continue to grow in numbers. And time-wise, it’s great because you’re not on set for 15 hours, and that’s the kind of trend that’s going on now. But more features will be in production as the administration starts to turn their sights to the companies they feel are putting out questionable material by conservative standards.”
In the meantime, St. Croix remains busy as he is wrapping up director Jonathan Morgan’s next big comedy for Wicked Pictures, Valley 911, and also has a prominent role in the upcoming Club Jenna/Vivid release, I Dream of Jenna 2. The 10-time, AVN Award-winner is also a regular on Brad Armstrong’s Wicked features, Paul Thomas’s Vivid movies and Nicholas Steele’s Ultimate Pictures/Adam & Eve productions.
“It’s gearing up to be a very busy year, which is great,” St. Croix said.
