Spice Digital Networks Launches Spice Live Next Week

Spice Digital Networks will launch Spice Live, a new channel featuring live interactive programming blocks on December 1, 2003.

"Spice Live is the only network in existence that will offer real-time, interactive adult content 7 days a week," commented Jeff Jenest, general manager of Spice Digital Networks. "Our intention, by creating such a unique and innovative network,is to continue to provide the widest variety of adult entertainment to the consumer. Period"

The channel will launch with approximately eight to ten hours of original live programming blocks each day, seven days a week. The programming blocks will repeat until the next day.

Some of the live, in-studio programming will include the currently airing original series, Spice Clips, and The Nooner, a new, daily show encouraging "afternoon delights" at home along with real, on-air couples. Another new series that Spice Live will carry is Unzipped, a reality-based series somewhat like Playboy TV's Totally Busted, but much more graphic.

Spice Clips presents live programming blocks featuring scenes from Spice Digital Networks' extensive library of classic and new adult films. A cadre of adult star "CJs" (clip jockeys) including Holly Hollywood, Aurora Snow, Anne Marie and Velvet Rose host real-time call-in segments allowing viewers to interact with the stars and choose their favorite adult film clips which will then be shown. To date, Spice Clips has received more than one million calls from viewers.

In fact, it was the success of Spice Clips that led to the creation of the new channel. "We had a lot of success with Spice Clips, but it was only offered to certain affiliates. We figured that if we rolled it into a larger channel, we could expand it and offer to more affiliates," Frank Marchesini, spokesman for Spice Digital Networks, told AVN.com
