Sometimes It's Just a James Deen Week

PORN VALLEY—It's been a hell of a week for James Deen. Not only did he speak at Pasadena Community College, and not only is his Kickstarter steampunk movie project Cowboys & Engines nearing its "stretch" funding goal, and not only is he about to star in a dystopian tale from AM Kingdom about Saving Humanity (from extinction, no less), but the Right-Wing Religious Whackjobs (RWRWs) have just discovered that a porn star (Deen) is <gasp!> popular among teenage girls!

To deal with that last bit of "news" first, veteran RWRW Brent Bozell, founder of the ultra-conservative Media Research Center, spent today's "contribution" to Townhall.com blasting ABC.com for daring to post a story based on an updated look at Deen's appearance on ABC's Nightline back in February of last year—on Deen's appeal to younger viewers—some not legally old enough to watch porn, but guess what? They do it anyway.

"It quickly becomes apparent that this ABC story is not a warning against Deen. It is a commercial for Deen," Bozell claimed in his article titled "ABC's Porn Pinup for Teenage Girls." "On the program, which aired March 1, "Anchor Juju Chang began the segment by insisting, 'James Deen, of course, is not his real name. It's his porn name, and it could soon be a household name.' ABC shows you and talks about Deen's blog, lingers over Deen's Twitter page with 111,000 followers, as Vega cooed, 'And if the visitors to his site are underage, well, Deen says that's not something he can control.'"

Apparently, Bozell hasn't caught up with the fact that Deen's good looks, which would be perfectly at home in a '50s sitcom (not to mention the Not the Bradys XXX parodies), make him attractive to roughly the same swath of female humanity as Justin Bieber or Daniel Radcliffe—and ABC found at least one 20-something who pretty much hit that nail on the head.

"[ABC reporter Cecilia] Vega turned to Deen's vaunted girl fans for more praise," he wrote, "like Christina Ahlsen, now 21: 'He looks like somebody that I could see at, you know, a coffee shop or something and actually approach.'" and further noted, "She also likes porn: 'My first legitimate encounter with porn was when I was in fourth grade and I searched Playboy. It was early adolescence, yeah, and that's, you know, a very curious stage.' Vega then added: 'There are literally thousands of women out there who share Christina's enthusiasm for all things James Deen.' ... Vega reported Deen's appeal is not just his looks, as 'porn's guy next door,' but that 'The young fans tell us they're drawn to Deen because he's different, a porn star who holds hands with his leading ladies, who gazes into their eyes, even shows a little romance.'"

No shit? Well, at least they've got their finger on the pulse, unlike Bozell, who also takes Deen to task not only for being popular, but for being sexually sane.

"Deen took the usual porn star's usual 'sex-positive' stance," Bozell wrote, then quoted Deen as opining, "You know, there's a 15-year-old girl, an underage girl, an underage guy, an underage person that is viewing a scene that I'm in or any sort of porn, chances are they're doing that because either they're curious, they're horny, whatever it is, they're sexual enough that it is something that they desire, that they crave, that they want. And it's not necessarily a bad thing."

And of course, rather than bring up movies Deen's been in that won awards, like Corruption or Cheerleaders or Upload or Faithless or Deviance, Bozell managed to find a title, from Kink.com no less, that was bound to enrage most of his readers. (For more, click here.)

"There's even a film for sale titled Christian Speed Dating—Innocent Girl Gangbanged on Film," he wrote. "That's in case you love the idea of four men gang-raping a virginal Christian girl. The actress—who we're assured is over 18 but doesn't look like it—is being strangled in the promotional picture. So much for holding hands."

But what really gets under Bozell's skin is that, unlike all of his RWRW buddies on, say, Fox News, who of course always find left-wing (or simply sane) spokespeople as counterpoint for the views of their religio-conservative guests, ABC couldn't (or more likely just didn't) find some asshole to defame Deen and his work.

"ABC News never located an actual parent who might disapprove of Deen and this kind of filth," Bozell claimed. "They never found an anti-pornography expert or a social-conservative think-tanker for a single discouraging word. Put simply, ABC was a porn star's pimp."

Funny; he never described Fox News as "Mitt Romney's [or John McCain's or Rick Santorum's or Newt Gingrich's] pimp."

We also have to wonder what Bozell would think of Deen's upcoming role in Saving Humanity as the evil "President Weinstein," leader of the evil Corporation, which rules the world in the year 2054, who's hell-bent on stopping Sara (Sinn Sage), a scientist from that year who travels back in time to the Prehistoric Era, 1958, and finally 2013 to recruit a team of gifted young women to help save the human race from extinction?

"There are heroes and villains in every time period—those fueled by greed and those who wish to help guide the world toward a more righteous path," said Saving Humanity director Harry Sparks, who previously helmed the award-winning Revenge of the Petites for AM Kingdom. "Sinn, Andy [San Dimas], Celeste [Star], Riley [Reid], and Sativa [Verte] have all proven themselves adept actors, and we’ve surrounded them by a fantastic supporting cast."

"While writing the script, I always had James in mind to play President Weinstein," Sparks added. "His charisma is perfect for adding extra depth to the character, making our villain more likeable and sympathetic."

According to a press release, "Saving Humanity is a cautionary tale about what lies ahead for society if people continue down the wrong path. The original feature also stars adult performers Skin Diamond, Tara Lynn Foxx, Cindy Starfall, Ana Foxxx, Anthony Rosano, Seth Dickens, Cadence St. John and Beryl Aspen, plus numerous extras."

What will also set the movie apart is that it will be released in multiple formats across multiple platforms—and they're even going to the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) to get an "R" rating for the non-hardcore version.

"I love when studios push adult entertainment to new levels, which AMKingdom.com previously did with Revenge of the Petites," noted Deen, whose appearance opposite Lindsay Lohan in the upcoming indie film The Canyons from Bret Easton Ellis and Paul Schrader apparently sparked the ABC Nightline story.  "I’m looking forward to my time on set."

We're sure Brent Bozell will too!
