LOS ANGELES—SoCal Licensing has announced the launch of its European office and the appointment of long-time industry executive Erwin de Vries to be the president of content licensing for Europe.
Started in 2008 by Jim Crawford, SoCal Licensing has steadily become a go-to agency for many of the top adult studios in the industry, thanks to its reputation and strong relationships with many of the major players in the broadcast and lodging industries.
With the addition of the exclusive studio representation for the upcoming iPorn VOD platform, Crawford said the opening of a satellite office in Europe was imperative in order to meet the growing demands for SoCal Licensing's operations.
"Expanding beyond the base of our operations in the U.S. is a very significant action by SoCal Licensing, one that has become necessary for us as we continue to pick up new clients seeking to gain maximum worldwide exposure and placement of their content," Crawford said.
"With the soon-to-launch iPorn VOD system we needed a dedicated presence in Europe at all times in order to successfully implement the marriage of our clients with what we believe will be the biggest game changer the adult industry has seen in quite some time," Crawford continued. "To be able to partner with someone with the experience, knowledge and relationships that Mr. de Vries has certainly lets the industry know that SoCal Licensing will continue to lead the next generation of adult entertainment distribution."
De Vries has spent 10 years working in the European broadcast market and is ecstatic to be leading SoCal Licensing's newest corporate division.
"I’m delighted to be working with SoCal Licensing and its enthusiastic team and exclusive studios and am looking forward to growing even more SoCal’s position in the adult entertainment industry," de Vries said. "I’m particularly optimistic about SoCal’s substantial and growing library across all new media platforms. I also look forward supporting the European production companies to maximize their exposure in this market in Europe and worldwide.”
