SmutDrs Burst Their Booble: Searcher Becomes Sponsor

We don't want to burst anybody's Booble, but the rising new adult search engine – whose parody of Google's homepage appearance has attracted attention from many and a little cease-and-desist harrumphing from Google – has become a corporate sponsor of SmutDrs, the popular adult Internet talk and comedy show.

The deal, which was finished February 20, will enable the show to take it to five nights a week within a month, though SmutDrs representatives did not confirm exactly when that schedule would begin.

“As soon as I saw Booble, the flood of press they created, and the huge balls they had to take on a corporate giant by parodying them, I knew this was a match made in heaven… or hell depending on how you look at it," said SmutDrs executive producer and co-host John (Dr. Johnny) Todora. "I met Bob, the owner of Booble in Las Vegas and then had my ‘do-boy’ producer Kevin (Godbee) iron out the details with them.”

The do-boy producer told AVN.com SmutDrs became aware of Booble the way everyone else did: the flurry of press they whipped up when they torqued Google with the satirical appearance.

"The SmutDrs are kind of appreciative of things like that," Godbee said. "And by chance, we ran into (Booble) at the Internext show, and that's not easy to do, because these are the kind of guys who are trying to remain kind of anonymous. But we bumped into them and hit it off, and we came up with the idea in Vegas, but it took some time to get the details ironed out."

“It is great to be working closely with the best in the business!” said an official statement from Bob, who has tended to keep himself on the mystery side ever since Booble launched a few weeks ago. He has said, however, that he started Booble as something of a joke but got carried away when the idea took off.

Godbee said there is a "strong possibility" of Bob himself coming on the air on SmutDrs in a future show. "Their coming aboard makes it possible for us to go five nights a week, and that means we can plan more guests, and Bob is one guest on our list," he said.

For now, SmutDrs, of course, airs live every Tuesday from 8-10 p.m. EST/5-7 p.m. PST. Veronica Fox was scheduled to be the feature interview on the February 24 broadcast. Booble can be accessed throughout the SmutDrs Website, including its first radio commercial.
