That's how the younger Smothers put it to reporters, a few months after his father was said to have been shocked by his adult film debut in Bad Influence, described as an adult send-up of The Graduate with Smothers in the Dustin Hoffman-derived lead.
Smothers has since had sex scenes in three other adult films and dialogue-only roles in three more, according to Reuters.
"The acting part of it is obviously what draws the most attention and piques the public's interest most. And to be perfectly honest, I also enjoy it," he told the wire service. "But my real goal here is to build myself into a recognized, full-spectrum adult entertainer and entrepreneur…What I really want to do is become the Orson Welles of porn, not only performing in these films, but writing, directing and doing the music."
