Smash Pictures Signs Licensing Deal for Bishop’s Blind Sex Dates

Smash Pictures has signed a worldwide licensing agreement with Get It On Digital Video Entertainment to distribute the reality-based dating show Bishop’s Blind Sex Dates on DVD and VHS.

The series brings together couples who are introduced for the first time, and then follows them throughout a date, which then may develop into a sexual situation. Both parties are informed of the nature of the filming, and told that the cameras will continue to roll, no matter how intimate the date becomes. Both parties agree to be filmed before they are introduced.

The line is strikingly similar to several other mainstream dating shows, but is not in any way associated or connected to any of them. “Bishop’s Blind Sex Dates picks up where other television dating shows stop,” said Jeff Kydd, Director of Publicity for Smash Pictures.

The series is directed and hosted by Bishop, who is an editor, cameraman, on-camera production talent and Seymore Butts’ right hand production man on Showtime’s adult reality series, Family Business, and will remain with him in that capacity. BBSD is his first independent project. An episode of Family Business entitled “Ass Good As It Gets” focused on the taping of a scene for the first volume of the line, and immediately sparked the public’s curiosity. “The mainstream exposure generated enormous interest before the first volume of BBSD was even in the can,” Kydd said.

The three couples are matched based on profiles taken from their video bios. The men are all non-industry amateurs who responded to the www.blindsexdates.com website. Two of the three girls in each episode are first time amateurs. The third is a beautiful professional porn girl who is paired with one very, very lucky guy.

“Each person is interviewed before the date, midway through, and after, about their impressions,” Kydd said. “The cameras follow the couples from beginning to end, when they go horseback riding, take karate lessons, eat dinner, and at times make fools of themselves, usually leading to the sex.

“There are no cutaways or soft footage of the more explicit moments,” Kydd continued. “This is XXX entertainment. Nothing is scripted, nothing is rehearsed, nothing is faked. As the box states: Real Dates, Real Sex, Real People!”

A cable series based on the concept is under discussion.

Release date for the first volume of Bishop’s Blind Sex Dates is Sept. 9, with subsequent volumes to be released every other month.
