Director Skeeter Kerkove will shoot his next gonzo feature in high-definition for Lurid Entertainment on Feb. 5.
Lurid Entertainment has developed a new division called Lurid Hardcore that will feature movies directed by Kerkove in Hi-Def.
"I want to be ready for the future, for when it's demanded and however technology changes," Kerkove told AVN.com. "I will go with the technology and not be in any type of denial."
He added, "I'm excited to shoot in high-def. There is clearly a difference when you see a high-definition movie that's edited in true high-definition and see it on the Internet. There is truly a difference. It is so much cleaner and more crisp and more vivid. I don't know where the road will lead but I want to go with it."
Kerkove said he believes this will be the "first" gonzo to ever be shot and edited in high-def. The working title for the feature is Anal Supremacy. The director plans to shoot two versions, a XXX and Quadruple-X version.
The cast includes Melissa Lauren, Sandra Romain, Audrey Hollander, Carmen and Isabel Ice, who shot one of her first scenes with Kerkove that happened to be a double-anal. Kerkove said the male cast includes Otto Bauer, Jay Lassister, Marco Duato, Andrea Moranti, Mark Wood, Chris Charming and Pascal St. James.
Lurid Entertainment unveiled its Hi-Def technology by playing vignettes that were shot, edited and played in HD on 50-inch plasma screens at the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo earlier this month. Lurid also had side-by-side displays of standard Web content and their own WMV-HD (Hi-Def web content). Lurid claims it is currently the only adult company to make editing gonzo and wall-to-wall in Hi-Def "practical."
