Sin City has announced its latest development, an addition to the company’s Website called “On The Set.” The new feature showcases action from Sin City films and Mayhem XXX releases, including interviews and never-before-seen footage. Access is free to consumers.
"On the Set features a new title every week, with behind-the-scenes blooper reels and interviews," explained Win Dunseath, head of Sin City's Internet division. "These are things that a customer normally doesn't see before he buys. All we ask for is a valid e-mail address in order for a customer to log in.”
The content, between 250 and 500 megabytes weekly of high-quality promotional material, will be featured on 900 other paid sites and potentially could be viewed by up to a million people per day. The clips are encoded at 1.2 megabytes per second, which Dunseath claims is as close to DVD quality as the Internet allows.
In addition to sneak peeks behind the scenes, On The Set showcases candid interviews with the hottest stars of adult entertainment, including Sin City contract star and Penthouse Pet Hannah Harper, Chloe Dior, Randi Wright and Devon Michaels.
"The interviews change every week," said Sin City sales manager Danny Gorman. "I feel this is a great sales tool in that I can send customers to our site, where they can watch the behind-the-scenes action and get a taste of the movie before they buy it. This is a real bonus for the customer."
So far, with little more than word of mouth behind it, "On The Set" seems to be paying off.
"We average about a hundred thousand viewers or more per day," claimed Win Dunseath, "and from all indications, this is only the beginning."
