Showtime Shows Family Business Some Love

Showtime is giving a major push to the Family Business, scheduling a preview of the debut episode of the new reality series based on the double life of Adam Glasser, aka Seymore Butts, immediately after former world heavyweight champ Mike Tyson's non-title fight against Clifford Etienne.

The first episode deals primarily with Glasser going on a series of blind dates with women not in the adult industry - an experience that Glasser describes as "rough."

"I was interested in doing it because I had noticed a pattern in my life of only dating women in the industry and those relationships weren't necessarily successful. So I thought I'd look outside - knowing it would be extremely difficult but I was hoping that maybe I'd meet an understanding soul," Glasser told AVN.com.

Unfortunately none of the women were that understanding of his profession, and none of the dates lasting longer than two hours.

Glasser will be in Memphis to watch the Tyson-Etienne bout live, and Showtime will introduce him to their viewers during the fight.

While much of recent mainstream media coverage of the adult entertainment industry has been negative, Glasser, who has already seen the first five episodes, isn't worried about the way his series will portray the adult industry.

"I was very closely involved with the entire process. It's not going to portray the industry in a negative light. If anything, critics of the show will say that it's too positive," said Glasser.

Glasser points to a recent review in the Kansas City Star that described Family Business as "a new reality series that promises to do for porno what Six Feet Under did for mortuaries."

The preview for the series is tentatively scheduled for this Friday at11pm, depending on the length of the fight, which will start at 10 p.m.

Family Business will have its official debut on February 28 at 11:30 p.m. A new episode will air every Friday after that, until the series has run its ten-episode course.
