Sherforce Recoups Some of Hustler Debts

The auction sale of sex toys, lingerie, and miscellaneous erotica removed by debt recovery experts Sherforce from Hustler Hollywood stores in Birmingham and London last November has recouped nearly £35,000 (approx. $62,000 USD) that the Beverly Hills, Calif., company failed to pay to one of its suppliers. The oversight resulted in a High Court writ.

Sherforce, the U.K.’s largest team of High Court Enforcement Officers, netted the cash by selling items seized from the Birmingham store, which at 6,000 square feet, is believed to be the largest sex emporium in the U.K. An additional £10, 000 was raised before Christmas when items from the London store were sold to one bidder. Further auctions are planned.

Claire Sandbrook, Sherforce’s chief executive, said of the auction, “We are extremely pleased that we have been able to recover some of the money owing, although there is still a significant amount outstanding.

“It is important that businesses that cannot pay their debts do not bury their heads in the sand—and at Sherforce our aim is to help them as much as possible, while ensuring that the creditors receive what is owed to them.”
