Shay Sweet the Sought-After Prize in the Bitter Dusty/Chuck Martino Wars? Martino: "I Didn't Shit in Farrah's Suitcase"

Beech Video might be saying other things, but Shay Sweet's claiming they're just friends. A Loose Lips item reported in AVN's March, 1999 issue states that Dusty had been dating Sweet [when her and Chuck Martino were supposedly on the outs]; had paid for her tit job and a trip to Hawaii. Then, only to be dumped by Sweet who went back into the arms of Martino after the trip was over.

"He's [Dusty] telling everybody we were dating. That's not true," said Sweet. "And there was never any domestic squabbles with Chuck."

Martino then felt compelled to get into the framus when Sweet apparently told him that Gene Ross "blew her off" when she called with her side of the story. Ross never did, wondering where Sweet got that impression. Martino then told Shay he'd talk to Ross. Smooth things out.

Martino admits that he and Sweet broke up for a month to take a little time apart. "It was tough that we both worked at Sin City," says Martino. Sweet was going to move in with Gina Ryder, according to Martino. That's when Dusty, apparently, moved in for the kill.

Martino: "This guy [Dusty] is a salesman. He didn't stop calling her...on and on and on. Talking shit, doing his shit. Telling everybody in these companies that this was his girlfriend. You know where it all came from? Him."

According to Martino, David Sturman told him to keep cool and not embarrass Sin City by opening his yap during this episode. Martino stayed away from Sweet and told Kevin Beech to allow Dusty his best shot.

Martino: Kevin even told me they were going to Hawaii. The whole bunch of them. Dusty supposedly told Sweet, 'you gotta get a tit job. I get a great deal on tit jobs. I send so many people to this guy. You don't have to pay for it. They'll look really great on you.'

Martino: "Shay don't know. This is a 20-year old girl from Texas who's been with me two years. She's not your average porn girl. She's a nice kid. I hate seeing her feelings hurt. She really hasn't had to work and see a bad side of this business. All of a sudden she's not with me. She's got one of the best salesmen in the business selling her a tit job. I was 20 before. I would have taken the tits too, But Dusty went around telling everyone this was his girlfriend.

"Did I miss her? Yeah, I missed her. We showed up at the CES show and Dusty wound up looking like the biggest fucking fool in the world. Can you imagine how he felt when she signed at Sin City? He went around telling everybody she hated doing movies, that I made her do them. She's so young. This [AVN article] comes out. She comes in here crying. 'Chuck, stop this Dusty guy. He doesn't stop.' She's a nice kid.The dude's a great salesman. The tits look great. But I'm the one who had to deal with it. I'm the one who had to be an adult and see her get a tit job and go to Hawaii with another guy. It was like 15 people went along. I'm the one who had to eat my hat for a month. I never bitched, complained. It was never on Luke Ford's website. I was trying to be adult about it."

Dusty spins a yarn that gives an entirely different impression of the relationship. When informed that Shay Sweet told AVN that she and him were 'just friends,' Dusty seemed a bit dumbfounded. He said he wanted to set the record straight, particularly since he had been getting a flurry of calls from his GVA accounts when the AVN story broke. Dusty asked Gene Ross how the story originated. Ross said some of his gossip munchkins claimed to be relaying the story straight from Dusty's lips. Dusty said the AVN article made him "look like an asshole."

Dusty: "Wow, jeez, I guess that's not it at all. But I don't know, man. Part of what she and Chuck said is true. Part of it's not. You know why she did that [Sweet later denying the story to Ross about their involvement]? Fucking Chuck grabbed her by the neck and made her call and say that. I'll tell you the real truth. Yes, we dated. She left Chuck. We spent a weekend together in Santa Barbara. Chuck found out about it. He took all her money. He took her fucking rental car away. She was broke. She never had access to any of the money she made. Chuck had access to everything. He was like a pimp. At the time I co-signed for Shay so she could get another car, a Mustang. I got her a job working for a friend of mine. I didn't buy her a plane ticket. We went to Maui together for seven nights and eight days at the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa. We went with Kevin [Beech] and his girlfriend and her kids. We did nothing but eat like kings. I rented a Harley for two days. We fucked every night. We slept on the beach, went sailboating and snorkeling. We had a riot."

Dusty says he still loves Sweet and that she cares about him, too. Dusty says he got Sweet her tit job for Christmas, that he got a special deal for her with Dr. Randall Haworth of Beverly Hills.

Dusty: "He's one of the best plastic surgeons around. I send a lot of girls to him. He does fabulous work. I didn't sell Shay on the idea of tits. It was a mutual agreement. I got her tits for Christmas. It's no big deal." According to Dusty, Sweet wanted to wait until she was out of the business to get tits. That she wanted to get them "for the guy she was going to be with." Dusty also claims Sweet told him she was goiung to make him "a great wife some day."

Dusty: "I don't want to get into a big war. I'm just telling you the truth of what happened."

Dusty said Sweet then stayed at his house [recuperating]. "I took care of her, gave her her medicine. She wanted out of the business. She wanted to get away from Chuck. Chuck beat her." [Martino has always denied the beating allegations.]

Dusty also claims there was an incident involving Farrah a couple of years ago in Daytona where Martino is alleged to have taken a dump in Farrah's handbang out of spite. [Martino and Farrah were quarreling off and on.]

Dusty: "He [Martino] shit in her bag. When she got there and opened up her bag with clothing and stuff in it, there was shit in it. This is how he treats women."

Martino: "A SHIT you mean? [Martino chuckles]. I don't think I could shit in a suitcase. This is one I've never heard, and I know all these stories are coming from Dusty. Farrah and I ain't getting along because of Shay. But ask her, 'Did Chuck ever shit in a suitcase of yours?' I feel this is something you'd have to ask someone in person."

It was after Sweet had done a store signing for Midnight Video, that she and Dusty supposedly struck up a relationship, according to Dusty.

Dusty: "Somebody tipped me off that she had a crush on me. I went after it. And Chuck was in my office telling me that Shay was nothing but a 'dumb porno whore.' This his girlfriend, remember. I told Chuck flat-out that I liked her, I'll take her out. Chuck told me he didn't want anything to do with Shay, that he was fucking Jill Kelly. I told Chuck to run off with Jill Kelly."

Martino: "This is a good one, too. It's good gossip." Martino's version is that he walked into Kevin Beech's office. Dusty caught him. They had a conversation

Dusty: "I heard that you and Shay broke up."

Martino: "Yeah, Dusty. We broke up after YOU got her a job with a friend of yours. Dusty's a salesman. Probably one of the best. I'm in no way talking bad about Dusty or anyone at K-Beech. This is what happened. That was the end of the incident."

Martino also claims he told Dusty at the time that Sweet was his "soulmate," that he was going to be with her a long time. That they needed some time apart. "Please don't fuck with her head," Martino is supposed to have pleaded with Dusty.

Dusty's version is that he told Martino that, if Martino was dating Jill Kelly, that Sweet could do movies for him [Dusty].

Dusty: "He [Chuck] goes, 'fuck that.' If she stays here, I'm going to send every tape she's got, back to her mother. 'I'm going to bury her.' I'm going like, 'fuck this'. He's treating her like this, right? When we [Dusty and Shay] were on the plane, people asked us if we were going to get married. And I shit you not, people in Hawaii were asking us if we were on our honeymoon. It wasn't like I bought her a plane ticket to Hawaii. We went together. We went first class and had a great time. When we came back, I got her the boob job, and we spent Christmas together. We spent New Year's eve together."

There was supposed to be an incident in which Dusty was at the office on a Saturday. Sweet called and asked if he needed help. Dusty said no. Sweet told him she was going by the 7-Eleven to get some things, that she would be over his place about six in the evening. She told him she loved him. Sweet then went to the tanning salon and allegedly ran into Martino. According to Dusty, Chuck was "preying the area." Martino knew what car she was driving. Martino was supposed to have approached Sweet, asking her to come back to his place where they could smoke a joint and talk things out. Sweet didn't show up at Dusty's house that evening. Dusty says he hasn't talked to Sweet since the tanning salon incident.

Dusty remembers the time he and Martino got in a fistfight in 1993 over another woman. It was a girl Dusty was going to marry at the time. Dusty broke his hand in the scuffle.

"Chuck and I aren't the best of friends," says Dusty. "I could bury him." Asked if he and Dusty ever had a fistfight, Martino says, "Not really. No. I don't fight with my friends. We were living together at the time."

Martino also claims it was Dusty who talked Sweet into letting him put a down payment on a car for her, telling her that he'd put it on his credit card and that she could pay him back after she resolved certain financial matters with David Sturman.

Martino: "For Dusty to get her, he had to pull some big tricks. Dusty is a salesman. He talked her into the car. I've known this girl for two years. Shay has never asked me for a penny. Dusty presumed to keep on and on and on. Shay said this guy never let her alone." Martino said he's returned Dusty's car to him.

Martino also claims the Hawaii trip was Dusty's idea of being "friends."

Martino: "She [Shay] said it was the worst fucking week of her life. She said she couldn't stand Dusty. Dusty is ancient history. I've never rubbed this incident in his face. I don't throw this in his face. As a man, I know how he feels. He fell in love with her. I feel bad for him. I'm not stupid enough to do that for a girl. I've been stupid in my day, but not that stupid."

Martino claims Dusty's friends have advised him to stay away from Sweet. Martino says he doesn't need the "stupid publicity" of the incident, that he's doing a good job with Sin City.
