Sharon Mitchell to Marry in S. Africa

Dr. Sharon Mitchell, Ph.D., executive director for AIM Health Care, told AVN.com she is leaving for Johannesburg, South Africa, on Friday to get married.

Mitchell, who will wed her boyfriend of two-and-a-half years, will travel one hour outside Johannesburg to visit a friend of hers with whom she studied with for her Ph.D.

“I have also helped her continue her clinic which uses PCR/DNA in 1999 on my last visit,” Mitchell said. “We will be wed close by, on November 29 through the 30th in a series of three marriage rituals by a Sangoma (Zulu Witch Doctor). The Sangoma will bless the rings, the land, individually raise our spiritual lineage, and then use some tinctures and medicines on our bodies.

Mitchell continued, “We will then make love to unite our spirits. At dawn on December 1st, on the day of the wedding, we will be blessed and united as a couple at sunrise. We will have a small, elegant ceremony at the gallery 181, (also on the land) in the afternoon, Moroccan Lamb and S A Champagne. Then have another night of bliss. This is a legal and binding marriage in the U.S. as we will also have a S A marriage officer present.”

She said that the following week she and her new husband will visit another friend in Kawa Zulu Natal and stay for the weekend.

“Then we will fly down to Port Elizabeth, rent a car, drive through the garden route and Karoo to the Cape of Good Hope where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Indian Ocean, and on to Capetown, Stellenbach, and the wine country,” Mitchell said. “We will take our time during the week and enjoy the sites. On the 9th, we will [take the] train from Capetown up to Johannesburg and then make the long trip back home.”

Mitchell will be back at the AIM Health Care office on December 12.

“Thanks to everyone for all your well wishes,” she added. “I wish all a happy and healthy Thanksgiving holiday.”
