On June 8, there will be another talent meeting organized by the fledgling Adult Actors Guild at STR-8 Up Studios. AIM Healthcare Foundation's Dr. Sharon Mitchell, PhD., will be the guest speaker for the event.
Veteran performer Mr. Marcus, the organizer of the meeting, said that this will be the first time since Darren James was diagnosed as HIV positive in March, that talent will have the opportunity to ask Mitchell questions directly.
"This will be Sharon's first one on one with talent since the HIV thing began. This will be talent's opportunity to ask questions and confront Mitchell with whatever issues they might have."
The Adult Actors Guild is the unofficial name for the group of talent attempting to organize a talent union to protect the interests of adult performers. Mr. Marcus has organized most of the meetings for the group.
The meetings usually draw 30 to 50 performers. Marcus is hoping that attendance begins to pick up with this meeting. "I want some of the top talent in the industry to show up, as well as the newly anointed," Marcus said.
The production moratorium that was started in reaction to the HIV outbreak was originally slated to end on June 8.
