CHATSWORTH, Calif. – AVN Hall of Fame director Adam Glasser (a.k.a. Seymore Butts) has released Do It Yourself Porn, A Guide For Shooting Great Sex Scenes.
“Everybody is making porn now,” Glasser told AVN. “And now, with YouTube and YouPorn and all of that, it’s all over the internet. I get letters all the time asking me for a little tip here and a little tip there, whether it’s shooting the material or lighting. I decided to make this movie to answer all of the questions I’ve been getting asked.”
Glasser said he set up Do It Yourself Porn like a basic instructional video. “I used Sunny Lane and Tom Byron, and I take the viewer through every step of the process in creating a porn movie. I show them how I make the decisions when I shoot it, what angles I use, what lighting I use, how I edit it…everything.
“I chose Tom because he’s one of the best in the business and he’s one hundred percent reliable, and that’s what I needed,” Glasser continued. “And, in terms of Sunny Lane, not only is she beautiful, but she has one of the best attitudes in the adult business…and I needed good attitudes, because I knew this was going to be a pretty tedious shoot.”
The two-hour porno tutorial also features Mari Possa.
“I really hope people get something out of this,” said the pioneering gonzo director. “I tried to put all my knowledge and experience from the last sixteen years into it. Though I think that anyone who is involved in adult can get something from this movie, it’s really intended for the amateur cameraman. I tried not to get too technical.”
Glasser said he isn’t worried about the “everyone is a porn director” age because it’s that sort of environment that enabled him to pick up a camera.
“Let’s face it, if gonzo hadn’t come along and gotten so popular…if
the price of video cameras hadn’t gone down to something I could afford, I
wouldn’t be here right now," he said.
