Severe Flooding Prompts Postponement of Brisbane Sexpo 2011

BRISBANE, Australia—Organizers of Brisbane Sexpo 2011, which was scheduled to take place March 3-6, have postponed the event in response to the floods in Queensland in December and early January. Three quarters of the Australian state has been declared a disaster zone.

The new dates for Brisbane Sexpo 2011
 will be July 21-24.

“At this time we believe it is not appropriate to host the show while the
state recovers from such a severe natural disaster,” read a statement from Rob Godwin, general manager of Sexpo Australia. “Our thoughts, support
and love go out to our relatives, friends, patrons, and all people affected by this event.

“With the rescheduled show,” Godwin added, “we will be dedicating our staff
and extensive resources to raising funds for the flood relief and providing
some special promotions for the courageous volunteers who are assisting
with getting Queensland back on its feet.”

In his statement, Godwin thanked exhibitors, performers and patrons for
their support in changing the dates. He also encouraged that donations to the flood relief be made via this website: QLD.gov.au/floods/donate.html.

The next Sexpo will be held May 26-29 in Perth, Australia.
