Seven New Titles Slated From Low Art Films and Puba Network

LOS ANGELES—Oren Cohen's Low Art Films and partner the Puba Network (www.Puba.com) have announced the coming release of seven new DVD titles, all slated to arrive this summer.

“In this day and age, good enough isn’t good enough anymore,” said Low Art owner and founder Oren Cohen. “As an industry, we’ve enjoyed many years of easy sales with mediocre product and high margins. Those days are over. It’s time to go big or go home. If your product is the best, people will buy it. Low Art and Puba are bringing porn back to its roots.”

Low Art says value is a high priority with the new company, and promises to maintain pricing along the lines of competitors’ standard new release offerings while doubling the value for both retailer and consumer. Every Low Art new release will include nine brand new vignettes on two DVDs in clear cases with O-Card packaging. All other companies distributed under the Low Art umbrella will adhere to the same standards of value and quality.

Setting Low Art Films' product apart from most of today’s adult movies is Cohen's use of Super 8, Super 16 and Standard 16mm cameras as well as Black and white, Color Negative and Color Reversal film stock, mimicking  the distinctive look of films made in the '60s and '70s. With current technology, Cohen can take multiple scenes shot through a wide array of lenses and splice together scenes in ways never seen or produced in the adult industry.

When asked what Low Art is, as a company, Oren explained, “Low Art is all about making the woman look as sexual and attractive as possible. I want the performer and the viewer to be dying to have sex by the time it occurs on screen.”

Puba.com is an internet company that started in 2009 that develops and maintains an all access network that drives traffic to the official websites of some of the major adult stars in the business. Shyla Stylez, Jayden Jaymes, Asa Akira, Mason Moore, London Keyes and Charley Chase, to name a few, have a built-in network that handles their production with DVD quality content by two of the top photographers and directors in the business. Girls are able to benefit from the DVD release because there is a partnership not only for websites but also for other venues such as DVD and cable. Puba is changing the way content is handled and gives the talent additional revenue sources and major traffic partnerships with some of the top porn sites.

“Puba is excited to have a partnership with Low Art and we plan on giving the consumer the best quality out there, period,” said Puba Network co-founder Lori Skye. “Our girls along with our scenes speak for themselves and so will our DVDs.”

Cohen added, “Our consumers' habits and tastes have changed dramatically. The only way we’re going to keep them on our side is by giving them value and quality. Other companies are secretly swapping scenes with each other, re-releasing the same footage as comps and trying to pass it all off as a new release. I don’t want to pull the wool over anyone’s eyes. I want to re-establish the barometer of quality that used to drive our industry. I want to be proud of what I sell to the public. I want to make my competitors work harder to make better product. We need a higher standard in these harder times. We can’t expect people to keep subscribing to our formulaic and stale interpretation of ‘reality’ or sex without any passion or natural context. We intend to feed people’s sexual appetites with substance.”

In addition to Low Art’s self-produced titles, the company will also act as a distributor for both internet companies and performers. “It’s time for motivated adult talent to take control of their destiny. The traditional production company model needs to be reinvented. Performers will create content for their websites and use Low Art to release it through traditional channels previously reserved for larger production companies. We want to cut the middle man out and let performers with vision in,” said Cohen. “Our doors are open to all performers with talent and ambition that want to release their unique product on DVD and television.”

This also marks a collaborating effort between Cohen and longtime childhood friend Steve Brickman.

“Oren and I have practically known each other from birth," Brickman said. "Our families go back quite a long ways together. Let’s just say this isn’t the first rodeo for either of us. It wouldn’t have made sense for me to go back to the marketplace with the same old stuff that hasn't been working for everyone else. I can honestly get behind this stuff and feel good at the end of the day. I’m old school. My customers trust me because I follow one golden rule which my father taught me: ‘Be honest and sincere because at the end of the day all you got is your word!’ These are words I live by and therefore makes it easy for me to truly believe that everyone will benefit with this conjoined effort.”
