Performer-director Sean Michaels turned 46 on Mardi Gras, February 24, and was treated to a surprise public birthday party to celebrate the event.
The porn superstar, an AVN and XRCO Hall of Famer, didn’t feel like going out that damp night. But Harry L. Weiss, his publicist, talked him into taking a break and having some fun at Porn Star Karaoke, a weekly event at Sardo’s Restaurant in Burbank.
There, amid the usual Tuesday night crowds, he was greeted by a small but enthusiastic band of friends and admirers. They presented him with a big chocolate birthday cake and lots of hugs and handshakes.
“How does it feel to turn 46?” AVN.com asked the star, who looks a good ten years younger. “It feels goooood!” he grinned. He said that things are going even better than expected at Platinum X Pictures, where he has an exclusive distribution and performing deal. His next release will be Vol. 1 of a new series, Hot Ass Latinas, shipping April 1.
Actor Kurt Lockwood, after rocking the house with a karaoke number, teamed with new porn sensation Keiko to introduce Michaels from the stage. KSEX’s Wankus, the host of Porn Star Karaoke, led the applause.
Other guests from the adult industry included starlets Velvet Rose, Violet Blue, Ann Marie and Kayla. Dave Giarusso, the man in charge at Red Light District, an affiliate of Platinum X, also dropped by to pay his respects.
