Sasha Grey’s Mainstream Media Experience Continues

LOS ANGELES — It seems like everyone wants to experience Sasha Grey nowadays, her latest media coup being a guest spot tomorrow night on “Last Call With Carson Daly” in support of her role in The Girlfriend Experience, an indie film directed by Oscar winner Stephen Soderbergh.

Grey plays a high-end escort in the film, a role that has earned the AVN Award-winning performer seemingly ubiquitous press coverage. She’s been profiled in everything from Rolling Stone to Variety as a result of her role as the film’s lead.

Next Friday, May 29, Grey will host a release party for the movie in Las Vegas at Lavo, a nightclub in the Palazzo. The event begins at 10 p.m. and will feature a live DJ.

The Girlfriend Experience is the second feature in Steven Soderbergh's six-film agreement with 2929 Entertainment, a vertically-integrated company formed by Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban. The company brings together diverse media distribution outlets to experiment with a day-and-date model that sees a movie released across several platforms on or around the same date.

HDNET Movies, the television partner of 2929, will play the film three times back-to-back tonight, May 20, beginning at 5 p.m. PST with encores at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Two days later the movie will see a limited theatrical release, primarily in Landmark Theaters, an art house theatre chain also owned by 2929.

HDNet Movies is channel 421 on Time Warner cable systems in Los Angeles, 552 on Direct TV and 9423 on the Dish Network. Check the HDNET website for information about your area.
