LOS ANGELES—Adult star Sara Luvv has landed the lead role of Adam & Eve’s upcoming feature Babysitting the Baumgartners, director Kay Brandt confirmed Friday.
Luvv will play the babysitter at the center of the love triangle in the movie, which is Brandt’s adaption of the New York Times bestselling novel by Selena Kitt.
The film, which will shoot March-4-7, also stars Anikka Albrite and Ryan Driller as the Baumgartners and A.J. Applegate as another alluring nanny.
Brandt auditioned several talented performers for the pivotal role of “Ronnie” at an open casting call Wednesday in Canoga Park.
“Casting the role of Ronnie was a tough thing to do,” Brandt said. “I admire the performers who auditioned and wish I could hire them all. There were several factors that had to be considered, though, in the casting of Ronnie. Ultimately, it was a group decision among myself, Selena Kitt, and Adam & Eve to hire Sara. She truly fits every aspect of what we were looking for.”
The popular Luvv, who is in her fifth year in adult entertainment, has performed in more than 220 movies, including several for Adam & Eve.
“Being chosen to play the lead role as Ronnie is truly an honor,” Luvv said. “I have tremendous respect for Kay Brandt, Adam & Eve and the rest of the cast and I cant wait to begin shooting next month! The opportunity to perform in 10 of the 12 sex scenes is both a great challenge and a milestone in my career. I think fans can expect to see a new side me.”
Adam & Eve’s Head of Production Rachel Vigneaux said the studio is “thrilled” to have Luvv back in such a big project.
“She has been in several of our movies before and seems to be a perfect fit for the role as Ronnie,” Vigneaux added. “We can’t wait to see her perform with Anikka and Ryan.”
Brandt wrote and directed Safe Landings last year for Adam & Eve, adapting the screenplay from her book of the same name. The movie received six nominations for the 2016 AVN Awards and was released as an e-book last summer through Selena Kitt's Excessica Publishing. A seasoned director that has shot more than 40 movies since 2009, Brandt is also an Amazon.com bestselling author who has written eight erotic novels.
She emphasized it was a collective decision to tap Luvv that also included input from co-stars Driller and Albrite.
Luvv actually switched around some vacation plans in the event she got the part.
“I am super excited for Sara Luvv getting the lead role in this movie project,” said Luvv’s agent Mark Schechter, owner of ATMLA. “She had a tremendous year in 2015, and this is a great opportunity for Sara to start this year off with a huge role.”
Kitt, who has sold more than two million books, became renowned for her steamy “Baumgartners” series of erotic novels that became both USA Today and N.Y. Times’ bestsellers.
“I’ve been approached before about making my books into adult films, but I’ve never felt right about it until now,” Kitt said earlier this week. “Why now? Because it’s in the hands of Kay Brandt, who has won awards for directing adult films, and Adam & Eve, a long-standing brand I know and trust.”
