LOS ANGELES—Wicked Pictures has enlisted the services of AVN Award winning director Sam Hain to helm a big-budget science fiction project titled Horizon, starring Wicked Girls Stormy Daniels, Jessica Drake, Kaylani Lei and Alektra Blue, plus a host of other A-list performers.
In the tradition of Wicked's previous forays into the genre, including Euphoria, Space Nuts and 2040, Horizon is planned as a major epic set in the future—2085, to be exact. The story unfolds as a civilization of extraterrestrial origin has invaded Earth. Of the planet's nine billion inhabitants, approximately one-third have been killed and nearly two billion more have been evacuated to a military base dug into the core of Mercury. Of the four billion humans remaining, none are expected to survive beyond the next 48 hours.
Taking a last stand against the alien invasion, one Marine battalion remains on the Earth's surface. But they are in retreat, desperately attempting to reach the safety of the space cruiser Horizon, when events occur that place the future of the planet and all its inhabitants in peril.
"We'll be shooting the entire movie with the new Red Epic camera, the same camera being used on Ridley Scott's Prometheus and Peter Jackson's The Hobbit," Hain said. "But because of the lengthy post-production schedules of those two films, we expect to be the first movie of this kind, in either mainstream or adult, to be released."
To create the movie's many special effects sequences, Hain and his crew will be augmenting the use of computer-generated effects with large scale modeling work, a technique that's recently come back into vogue thanks to the sci-fi director Duncan Jones' films Moon and Source Code.
"I believe that, as a team, we can create the first true crossover film," Hain continued. "We plan to deliver something so dynamic and realistic that, should you remove the hardcore scenes, it would still hold its own against anything the mainstream has to offer."
Other stars cast in Horizon include AVN Best Actress winner Kimberly Kane, Misty Stone, Rocco Reed, Bill Bailey, Natasha Nice, Tony DeSergio and Danny Mountain. The project into production over the next two weeks on locations in and around Los Angeles.
