LFP Video Group has parted ways with industry veteran Peter Reynolds, who was vice president of sales and marketing for VCA Pictures for the past two-plus years.
While at VCA, Reynolds helped market and sell what has become known as Alt-porn, leading the sales on Joanna's Angels 1 & 2 and former VCA director Eon McKai’s initial adult releases such as Art School Sluts and Kill Girl Kill. Most recently, he helped market the VCA release Atomic Vixens on myspace.com in association with numerous rock bands.
In his 20-year career he has also worked as a sales manager for Leisure Time’s Executive Video line in addition to spearheading sales of the Vivid Raw line.
“Basically I’ve lived and breathed VCA for over two years and I feel proud of where we were going and what we were accomplishing,” Reynolds said. “… I gave 110 percent and I don’t think there’s anyone out there more passionate and qualified for that position.”
Howard Levine, national sales manager for Vivid Entertainment Group, said he has known Reynolds for 18 years.
"He’s definitely a friend of mine," Levine said. "I don’t think there’s too many better salesmen out there. He’s got incredible relationships that he’s built up over the years. He’s a great salesman and he’s a great guy. Somebody out there is definitely going to benefit by having Peter work for them.
"He brought that Alt thing to the forefront and made it something that is viable. He’s a very passionate person."
Jeff Hawkins, senior vice president of LFP Video Group, said, “We wish Peter all the success in the world in the future. We were just going in a different direction with VCA sales. Obviously, we thank him for his loyalty and his work in the years he was with us.”
