SYSTEM OVERLOAD BUSTS CHILD PORN COLLECTOR

It took a system overload to bust a state worker's child porn collection - he kept it on his office computer and it became so large the system overloaded and caused trouble clearing memory for office work. And that was how Arthur Garey's collection of child porn was discovered.

The 51-year-old state merit system office worker is now charged with sexual exploitation of children and free on $10,000 bail, says APBNews.com.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents arrested Garey last Wednesday, saying his child porn collection took up most of the computer space allocated to him. GBI spokesman John Bankhead tells APBNews the bureau was brought in about the problem last spring, when some of the child porn was found while the system was being troubleshot. The state merit system offices feared there might be criminal violations involved, Bankhead tells the online news service.

Garey faces only the one charge for now and has a tentative court date next week, but Bankhead says the investigation continues. "We're working with the attorney general's office on it," he tells APBNews. "The attorney general had indicated going ahead and taking this warrant for this charge, right now."
