The owners of SMS Kings have launched an SMS billing service, SMSBiller.com.
The service, which is particularly popular in Europe, allows consumers to buy products by using their mobile phone and sending an SMS message. The service is currently available in Sweden, Belgium, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Poland, Germany, Netherlands, Great Britain, Austria, and Spain.
“About two years ago, I saw that there was a lot of competition in the English-speaking market and nothing new was happening. Therefore, I decided to try out the Norwegian market,” SMSBiller.com owner Bjorn Andersen told AVNOnline.com. “In my country and in rest of Europe SMS is very, very popular. People are suspicious of using credit cards online, so I went with SMS billing.”
The billing process can be formatted in several ways, such as a one-time charge for a single product or a charge per minute. Since SMSBiller.com is available in 11 countries the service includes free geo targeting, which filters users via their country of origin.
The SMSBiller member’s area also features real-time statistics.
