"SHE STILL WANTS TO RESOLVE THIS"

The insider trading scandal that brought a federal indictment against Kathryn Gannon, a.k.a. former porn star Marylin Star, "is making her sick to her stomach," says a longtime friend, Adult Press Service president Marc Medoff. "She's looking to resolve it, and hopefully the sooner the better."

Medoff isn't exactly critical of Gannon's former husband, Bruce Akahoshi, speaking in the press about his former wife lately, but he's "not sure what value it is he's saying about any aspect of the case."

Gannon, in seclusion in Vancouver, British Columbia, was indicted in January in a case where she's alleged to have pocketed over $80,000 in stock trading based on advance bank merger tips she received from a former lover. She's also suspected of having passed such tips on to another former lover who also pocketed over $80,000 in similar trading.

Medoff says unnamed Canadian broadcasting sources told him a move toward extraditing Gannon may have begun, but he added there wasn't any evidence of it yet. Gannon has a home in Florida. "I'm not following up that stuff anymore," he said wearily of the extradition speculation. "The last time I talked to her, she was feeling positive about the situation. She has no desire to be a fugitive one more second than she has to. She has no criminal record. She doesn't do illegal things. She's working very hard to resolve it legally, so she can clear this up, return to the U.S., and then go on with her life."

Medoff also says the "Robert Shapiro" who is her longtime attorney is not the same Robert Shapiro connected to the O.J. Simpson case.
