SABLE WRESTLES FOR A PUBLISHER

Rena Mero, formerly known as professional wrestler Sable, is shopping a new autobiography, Busting Out: My Life As Sable and Beyond.

Her agent, Craig Nelson, tells the New York Post the manuscript went to "everyone" last week, with Nelson expecting to hold an auction within the next two weeks to capitalize on wrestling mania and on the former Sable's notoriety.

Mero's tenure as Sable ended nastily last fall, when the World Wrestling Federation star brawled with the federation body over her refusal to show her breasts on national television and bring a lesbian theme into her ring act. She filed a since-settled-out-of-court $100 million lawsuit against the WWF.

Last year, Mero appeared nude in Playboy three times, but the magazine was forced to reprint a special issue dedicated to her because of a trademark brawl over the name Sable, with the WWF contending it owns the name.

Leaving the wrestling circus hasn't killed her appeal, however. Mero's reported to have a television pilot in development, the Post says, which would feature herself and her fellow athletic gonzo, basketball star Dennis Rodman. The paper says Mero is also "telling friends" she plans to play a dual role in a film, Doppleganger 224.
