Japan's new Prime Minister is not amused at a magazine story charging he was busted in a brothel over 40 years ago... A trucker is arrested for rape after his alleged victim finds a video of the attack - and pictures on the Web... And a popular prime-time television show will break a taboo next week by showing a kiss between two gay lovers... The Newsex Roundup always reads between the lines? nrnTOKYO - Japan's Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori is not amused that Uwasa no Shinso (Truth Behind The Rumours) published an article saying he was arrested in 1958 at a brothel. How unamused? To the tune of a ten million yen lawsuit he filed against the tabloid May 17. Said his deputy press secretary, Kazuhiko Koshikawa, to Asian media, "The magazine article was completely groundless. It disgraced the honour of the prime minister and we decided to take legal action to seek redress. We cannot tolerate such an act. The article was mere speculation." The prime minister is also demanding a formal apology from the tabloid to be published in major Japanese newspapers. The article claims Mori was one of twenty arrested in a police raid on prostitution rackets in Tokyo's red light districts, and quoted a former Tokyo police officer as saying Mori was among the customers, but was released without formal charges. Editor-in-Chief Yosunori Okadome said the magazine stands by the article and denied it infringed on Mori's privacy. nrnPENSACOLA, Fla. - Trucker Herbert Rupprecht faces rape charges and then some in a bizarre case involving a woman he's known two years - whom he drank with and had apparently been raping while she was passed out, until she found videotapes of the acts he performed as well as photographs on the Internet. The woman reportedly told authorities she had no knowledge of what happened while she was unconscious until she found the tapes, a computer disk, and Internet company forms which led her to find lewd images of herself online. And this apparently wasn't the only woman on the tapes, according to police who seized Rupprecht's computer and about 140 tapes. Rupprecht was arrested near Nashville last week after police tracked him by his employer's satellite resources. nrnHOLLYWOOD - The season finale of television's Dawson's Creek is going to smash another taboo on May 24 - it will feature the first gay romantic kiss between two male characters who already came close to a full kiss in the episode shown May 17. Jack and Ethan, the characters in question, are played by Kerr Smith and Adam Kauffmann. A Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Discrimination spokesman, Scott Seomin, told the New York Post the scene on the WB network show will be "historically important" as "a milestone we needed to get past. This is the first romantic kiss between two gay men on prime-time network TV - and it took a network like the WB, which is still new and not afraid to take chances, to make it happen." The storyline has involved Jack having to jump some hurdles regarding coming out as gay; the actual kiss scene will be outside Ethan's boarding school dormitory. What may make it even more significant is that the scene won't be seen as just a sweeps gimmick - as lesbian kisses on Roseanne, Ally McBeal, and Party of Five had been in the past, the Post said. nrn--- Compiled by Humphrey Pennyworth
