Sitting on her antique-style bed, with her dark hair cascading down her neck, 20-year-old Ava Rose texts incessantly on her cell phone. The phone's beeping and the clicking of her fingers on the pad is broken up by her sister's sigh nearby. "She's always doing that," says sister Mia, 19, who plops herself down next to her on the bed. "Come on, knock it off with that," Mia says as she tries to grab the phone, unsuccessfully.
"Bitch!" shouts Ava as she continues to text.
"Whore!" says Mia in return, before turning to the interviewer as she pulls her blonde hair away from her face. "I just think it's rude to do that with company," she tells her sister. Ava gives her the finger then laughs before putting her phone away. The two exchange expletives again, but soon focus on the interview at hand.
It's not hard to understand the attraction the two sisters have to directors and producers of gonzo porn. Their good looks, spontaneity and willingness to succeed are just some of the reasons they've become perhaps the premier tag-team sister combo in the industry in years.
"I don't think it's because the way we look," says Mia. "I just think people like the way we fuck."
Having arrived in the industry in February from Reno, Nev., the two sisters have gone on to star in a slew of gonzo titles for several studios, including Red Light District, Anabolic, Evil Angel and others. Both together and separate, the two sisters have been on a proverbial tear of late, starring in the upcoming Ass Appeal 4, by Hustler Video, and such recent titles as Moving Violations, by Smash Pictures; Take it Black 4, by Hustler; Fuck My Sister & Me Too, by Venom Digital Media; Joey Silvera¹s Hellcats 11, by Evil Angel; and Jungle Love 6, by DVSX, among others.
With her signing last month as a contract star with Adam & Eve, Ava's career is especially on the rise, given the company's plans to push their new starlet into the pantheon of porn stars. "I've always wanted to get a contract," said Ava. "I just didn't think it would happen this soon."
For Mia, seeing her sister get a deal less than six months into porn is especially gratifying. "I know this is what she's been waiting for so I'm really happy for her. She's a great performer," she says. "She and I fight a lot, but we'd be lost without each other. I really believe that. I don't think we can stand being apart for too long."
Despite their differences - Mia being the more outgoing one while Ava is the more reserved one, the two share a common bond of looking after one another and being ready to defend each other at the drop of a hat. It was just last year that the two sisters began their adult career at a Reno strip club. It didn't take long for a talent agent to spot them and send them out to go-sees with Internet porn operators.
"We did a lot of solo stuff with toys and things and then somebody offered us more money to have sex on camera and we were already fucking the shit out of everybody in our personal lives, so why not?" Mia asked. "Even before porn, I fucked 98 guys, so fucking on camera wasn't a big deal."
"Indeed," Ava replied: "I did 70 guys by the time I got into porn, so she was a bigger whore."
Originally from Alaska, the two sisters arrived in Nevada as children who would often bicker as much as play with each other. Even then the sibling rivalry was intense, the two recalled. "She was a bitch from way back," said Mia. "Always getting on my nerve. But I always looked up to her."
But the two didn't make friends easily. They had few close friends even in high school as they found companionship in each other. "We were always together as kids and I was a year older so it was harder for her," Ava recalled. "When I left to go to high school, it really devastated her." Mia gave her a look before blurting out an expletive. "I didn't forgive her for leaving me in junior high at first. I was pissed," Mia said.
It was indeed hard on both as they went about school without each other. But soon, the two found common ground as they discovered their sexuality. "But I stopped looking up to her when I lost my virginity," Mia said.
"I was like, fuck, I could be just like her so I went next door to my neighbor's house and he was 19 at the time, so I lost my virginity and came home...it turns out she didn't lose hers until she was 16."
But Ava was just playing a joke. "I didn't think she'd go to a guy's house and fuck," Ava says.
