Industry photog and AVN Hall of Famer Ron Vogel, 68, emerged unscathed after a crash Saturday morning with an oil tanker on Kanan Rd. near Malibu totalled his van. Vogel's feamle passenger, a model, sustained injuries. They were on their way to a still shoot. [Vogel was at a loss for her name when we talked to him.] Vogel's accident got play on local TV news.
Vogel: "There's some signs on Kanan Rd. that say this is a two axle, four-ton road. Do not enter. Here I am about 2 1/2 miles from the beach. I come around this curve and about 100 feet at the most was this double tanker. I applied the brakes and I crashed. I totalled the van. It was a strong, heavyweight van. I lost about 50% of my equipment, too. The girl herself had a double-fractured ankle. We had to fly her back it was really terrible."
Vogel, who has more lives than Buck Adams, said it was the fourth time that he has been in a totalled-vehicle accident. "But I'm very maneuverable," Vogel said. "I play basketball and lift weights now. I played basketball the same day."
