With XPW's debut at the L.A. Sports Arena only days away, imagine the shock to see both of Rob Black's headliners, Chris Candido and Shane Douglas, showing up on national TV at WCW Monday Nitro. Douglas and Candido are supposed to go at it for the XPW championship Saturday, but Douglas' unauthorized presence at WCW in Denver Monday night was even particularly disturbing to interviewer Mean Gene Okerlund who was emphatic and damning about Douglas' obvious conflict of interest. Especially shocked was Rob Black who got the screw job of his life by watching the TV set. Black had only offered Douglas a fairly lucrative contract plus 5% of XPW last week to come on board. An agreement between Black and Douglas had been reached in principle. The question is, what side of the fence does Douglas sit on?
Black: "I'm in shock. I got fucked. As far as I know, when I talked to Shane Douglas 9 am our time Monday, he was at his house in Pittsburgh. I don't understand how Shane Douglas could have done this to me. He told me not to worry. Shane did exactly the same thing to us that Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit and Perry Saturn did to him.:
G. Ross: "How are you going to reconcile all this bad blood between you and Douglas and have the show go on?"
Black: "Before we do the show I'm going to pull him aside. I'm not even picking him up at the airport. He called Kevin [Kleinrock] yesterday and told Kevin he was going to take a taxi from the airport to the arena and didn't want to talk to me. I'm going to try to talk to him bwefore the show."
G. Ross: "What's your relationship with Candido?"
Black: "He's still holding the XPW belt hostage and he's fucking us just as bad as Shane. I don't know what to do. If Shane beats Candido, Shane's going to the WCW. These two wrestlers fucked us because we're not wrestling people. We trusted these people. I got fucked by more people who aren't in the porn business. Shane Douglas is walking around with $20,000 of my money. I had a verbal contract with him."
