The trailer is the first glimpse of the plot for the movie, which stays true to the Star Trek cannon, while providing the long-desired sexual adventures between popular characters, like Captain Picard, Counselor Troi and Dr. Crusher.
“Having watched every episode of the show numerous times growing up, I knew exactly what sex scenes Trekkies wanted to see,” director Sam Hain said. “Our parody is about fulfilling the fantasies of fans around the world. The trailer is an excellent glimpse of what’s to come.”
The HD trailer reveals the engaging plot. On a distant planet, Data discovers the body of Lt. Tasha Yar, a former crew-member thought to be dead. While some of the crew are happy to see their lost comrade, others remain skeptical of her intentions. The appearance of a Romulan Warbird increases panic, and the Enterprise finds itself under attack from outside and within. Impending danger evokes lustful desires, as the crew turns to each other for comfort. Data and Tasha Yar rekindle their old flame, Troi and Riker put the Holodeck to use, and Captain Picard and Dr. Crusher finally have their moment of passion.
“We have experienced an unprecedented level of excitement leading up to the trailer and DVD release for Star Trek: The Next Generation,” Revolution X President Scott Taylor said. “We are extremely thankful to the original show’s fan communities, who embraced our parody from the very beginning. We’re also appreciative of all the media coverage and the retailers using each new marketing tool we release to increase visibility.”
