There's a new way for Video Team fans to watch their movies online: rent them.
Video Team's new VTMovies.com allows you to buy a pack of tokens with which to choose between seven and thirty-day unlimited access to 45 movies, either full-length or by the scene, including AzzFest, Sole Sistas 3, and others.
"We're just trying to maximize our customers' options," said VTMovies.com/VideoTeam.com vice president and Webmaster Susan Genova to AVN Online. "We want to make it convenient and fun, and just a positive experience for them to search our site and purchase our content if they so choose."
Genova said Video Team began work on VTMovies.com in April. "It was a pretty big project," she said. "We have 45 movies available online, and they're full length movies, but you can buy them by the scene or the entire movie. And it was a pretty big project because we had to do the coding and the encrpption and the ripping. It was the culmination of a long effort."
Video Team site members can have access to 375 movies. The 45 now being offered by the token packet rental program are compressed for Windows Media through digital encryption, with no membership obligation involved. Not that Genova doesn't hope VTMovies.com will perhaps entice a few new Video Team site members.
"We're just hoping to make people happy," she said. "But if they want a no-commitment type situation, where they can just have it on their desktop for thirty days, that's fine, too. We just want to make options available for people."
Movie rental at VTMovies.com involves buying a packet of 200 tokens for $8.95, which is good for either one full-length movie or five clips. And there are blocks of token packets involved on discount, depending on how many you buy. "The more you buy," Genova said, "the less expensive to rent movies."
