CHATSWORTH, Calif.—AVN Media Network is now accepting pre-nominations for the 2016 AVN Awards. Producers, manufacturers and retailers should immediately request access to the restricted pre-nom website in order to submit their movies, products, outlets and other entities for awards consideration. The site closes at midnight September 30.
The 33nd AVN Awards Show is scheduled for Saturday, January 23, 2016, at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The presenting sponsor is Chaturbate.com.
To submit pre-noms, candidates must register for a user account at the AdultCentro-powered pre-nom site, which they may do by going here: voting.avn.com/registration/submitter. If approved for access, they will receive a notification email and may log in to begin entering their pre-noms.
In order to be eligible for a 2016 AVN Award nomination, a movie or product must be released in accordance with the following guidelines:
Eligibility Period
All products must have been made available commercially during the eligibility period, which runs from October 1, 2014 to September 30, 2015.
DVD/VOD Eligibility
To be considered for nomination, movies released via DVD/VOD must either fit AVN’s traditional distribution requirements of being stocked with five wholesale distributors and/or 100 retail outlets (on DVD), or be made available for VOD download and/or streaming as follows:
• Must be available through a minimum of two (2) major for-pay VOD providers, defined as ones carrying movies from at least 100 active labels/studios.
• Must have clearly marked post dates falling within the eligibility period across all qualifying VOD platforms carrying it.
• Companies wishing to submit VOD-only titles to AVN for consideration in the 2016 AVN Awards must provide links showing that said titles meet the above requirements.
Standalone Web Scene Eligibility
Scenes from membership websites may be submitted for consideration in the following four categories:
• Best Anal Sex Scene
• Best Boy/Girl Sex Scene
• Best Girl/Girl Sex Scene
• Best Oral Sex Scene
To be considered for nomination in the one of these four categories, scenes must be released on a site that has members who are paying a monthly fee to access the site’s content. As with producers of content that is distributed on DVD and VOD, membership sites must also maintain 2257 records. If a scene in one of the above four eligible categories is released as both a standalone web scene and as an entity of a movie released either on DVD or VOD, the scene will by default be considered an entity of the movie. For consideration in all other categories, a movie must be released in its entirety as of September 30, 2015. Any scene individually considered for a 2016 AVN Award will be void from consideration in all future years if included as an entity of any movie released after September 30, 2015.
The deadline for pre-nominations is September 30, and there will be no extension. Once approved for access to the pre-nom site, users may visit it as many times as necessary until the deadline.
AVN asks producers and manufacturers to be judicious in their pre-noms, submitting only those titles and items they strongly believe have a chance at being nominated rather than submitting all product released during the eligibility period.
Production companies must supply AVN with all pertinent information in their pre-nom entries, including the full stage names of all the performers in the sex scenes and the names of all the behind-the-camera professionals in the technical categories such as editing, cinematography, makeup and others.
By September 30, AVN asks that producers send two (2) DVD copies of each movie or series it would like considered, as well as sample materials used in marketing campaigns if seeking consideration in those categories. Novelty companies should also provide two (2) samples of each product they would like considered. All items should be mailed or hand-delivered to this address:
