Registration Opens For Cybernet 2004

Registration for Cybernet Expo 2004 began officially Feb. 10. The exposition will be held at the Hyatt Islandia in San Diego's Mission Bay district June 9-12.

“This year’s first-time appearance in San Diego will be an exciting change from past events," said show organizer Fay Sharp announcing the registration period. "Traditionally a mid-sized show with around 1,000 attendees, we are anticipating record attendance this year given the location, time of year, and all the new added perks for attendees and sponsors.

"In addition to offering inexpensive booth space in the highly visible networking hall, we are also offering several new sponsorship packages including 'Corridor Cruisin'' and prize sponsorships, as well as numerous seminars, discussion groups, and cross-fire style panels," Sharp continued. "Anyone looking to enhance their online business and have fun doing it will definitely want to clear their calendar for June 9-12 right away.”

For a time after last year's Cybernet in Montreal it was believed that would be the last such show. Sharp had feared falling attendance at Cybernet and other adult Internet expositions at the time would make it difficult if not impossible to bring Cybernet back for one more round. But two months after last year's Cybernet, Sharp told AVN.com she signed a deal to bring the show back in San Diego.

She said talking to people after Montreal also convinced her to give it another try. "I didn't think there would be any more Cybernet," she said late last August. "The economy really sucks, and we had so many problems; we had the war, we had travel advisories, the SARS problem down in Toronto, it was just a little bleak. But I had a lot of people who, when I talked about it, and asked if they'd support it if I did it again, they said ‘Oh yes, oh yes.’"

It also doesn't hurt that this year's Cybernet has received some critical sponsorship, including Netbilling and LightspeedCash picking up two top corporate sponsorships, TopBucks signing on as the conference sponsor, SwapBucks the registration sponsor, WebCam Cash the top marketing sponsor, and YanksCash the first local company to take a sponsorship for the big opening reception June 9. Sharp said over a half-dozen other adult and mainstream Internet companies have signed on for sponsorships "with many more in the wings."

Early bird registration for all access is $99, with sponsorship and speaking engagements limited and going rapidly. For registration, contact [email protected]. For more information, visit Cybernet Expo on the Web or contact [email protected].
