Red Light Interactive has changed its named to Stella Films Production due to some confusion that arose with the original name.
The original name, coincidentally, was similar to the Chatsworth-based, gonzo producer Red Light District. Since Estelle Joseph’s company produces much different content, she believed it was important to clearly distinguish it.
“I thought it would be a good idea because we are different from what they do,” Joseph said. “Everything stays the same. New name, same focus.”
Stella Films Production makes porn designed for women and couples because Joseph found that movies for women were lacking.
“I wasn’t happy with the choices I had. It is such a male-dominated industry,” said Joseph, who has written and directed the company’s first three releases, City of Flesh 1-3. “Women were not being satisfied. … We’ve been embraced and we’ve gotten a lot of great feedback.”
Joseph said that Stella Films is preparing to release the" \n target="_new" > fourth and fifth volumes of City of Flesh early this spring.
