Red Light Files Suit Over Hilton Video

World Wide Red Light District, the exclusive owner and distributor of the 1 Night in Paris video, filed a lawsuit in the U.S. Federal District Court, Central District of California, today against Mordechi Kattan, D.B.A Woodland Hills One Hour Photo, for the alleged illegal counterfeit manufacture, sale and distribution of the video.

Red Light District is seeking a permanent injunction and more than $3 million in damages.

“Because of its intense interest and popularity, 1 Night in Paris has been widely counterfeited,” said Red Light owner David Joseph. “Red Light District has put an aggressive copyright and anti-counterfeit campaign in place in an effort to pursue these infringers. We have also posted a reward on our Web site http://www.1nightinparis.com/paris-rewards-policy/.”

1 Night in Paris, one of the best-selling adult videos in history, stars Paris Hilton, an internationally recognized celebrity. Hilton is the star of the Fox reality television series, "The Simple Life."

“Red Light District owns the copyrights to 1 Night in Paris and has the legal right to enforce them,” said Greg Piccionelli, attorney for Red Light District and co-founder of the intellectual property and Internet law firm, Piccionelli & Sarno. “This is the first of many actions we anticipate taking to protect the copyrights of Red Light District.”
