Red Light District Files Lawsuit Against Everhard

On January 6, Red Light District, Inc. filed a lawsuit against director Erik Everhard and his company Erik Everhard Entertainment, Inc. in Los Angeles Superior Court, North Valley District.

The complaint asserts claims against Everhard and his company for breach of contract, breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, fraudulent misrepresentation, unjust enrichment, and unfair competition.

The complaint seeks compensatory monetary damages and injunctive relief. Red Light District is also seeking punitive damages from the defendants.

Red Light District told AVN.com that it “intends to vigorously pursue its claims against Everhard, his company and all other responsible parties.”

Everhard has his own lawsuit against Red Light District pending, as previously reported by AVN.com. David Joseph, Red Light District president, said that Everhard’s lawsuit was “not a surprise. We knew that Erik was going to file a lawsuit some time ago. We think he might have filed because he knew we believed that he did some things he shouldn’t have, and that we were going to sue him.”

Joseph went on to say that Red Light District “wouldn’t have publicized our lawsuit against [Everhard] but for his press release. It’s not our style. Maybe [Everhard] wants the publicity, I don’t know.”

“I must tell you, we are very disappointed in Erik,” Joseph explained further. “We brought him to the attention of the industry, and this is how he repays us? Shameful. And it will backfire on him.”

Everhard was an exclusive director and performer with Red Light District for over two years, but is now distributed and contracted under Evil Angel. Everhard told AVN.com that he is now “very happy" at Evil Angel.

When asked for comment on the lawsuit, Everhard said that he and Erik Everhard Entertainment, Inc. have not “been properly served yet with these allegations,” but did go on to say that “we look forward to defending ourselves, in terms of the allegations against us, and will be prosecuting our own case against Red Light District to the fullest.”

“The allegations brought against us are unfounded and untrue,” Everhard concluded.
