"We've weathered the storm," said Dave Giarusso, referring to the temporary crisis caused by the resignation of his brother Dion as CEO of Red Light District. "And we've come together as a family," The reins of the company are now in Dave's hands, and the consensus among RLD's directors is that that's a good place to be. "Dave's enthusiasm," said one, "is contagious."
"We're not only going to keep the same level of quality but bring it up to a whole new level." Giarusso told AVN.com. They are maintaining their regular shipping schedule of two titles a week, Monday and Wednesday.
Giarusso refers to Mike John's No Cum Dodging Allowed-they just shipped Vol. 2-as "one of our better series." Newest addition to the Red Light team is Jake Malone-"a real good pervert"-who shoots Fuck Dolls and Throat Gaggers.
The latest director to own his own product is David Luger, who alternates shooting one for himself, one for RLD. He has a new tranny line coming up: Something Extra, shot in Brazil. (The second volume will be shot in L. A. and star Vanity, AVN's Transsexual Performer of the Year).
Even bigger is Orgy Invite, Luger's 12-girl tape: two scenes-6 women, 6 men in each-one shot in Prague, one in L.A. The action starts off with one couple and snowballs into six. It had a much bigger budget than most gonzo releases. Says Luger, "It's expensive, but it pays off." He's also shooting an interracial line, still to be titled, with three scenes of five guys on one girl. And he'll be doing Vol. 2 of Double Anal, his top selling line so far.
New from Robbie Fischer, who shoots Young Tight Latinas, Assault That Ass and several other lines, is Black Poles Coming in White Holes (interracial cream pies). Also coming from RLD is the two-scene Gang Bang #3. The girls are yet to be announced but it'll have a stellar stud lineup: all of the Red Light District-Platinum-X-Pictures performer-directors.
