The competition started on Sept. 19 and continues with the Round 5 this Thursday night in Torrance. The top two finishers in each round advance to the finals on Thursday, Oct. 23 at the same spot.
Dancers from Spearmint Rhino Gentlemen's Clubs across the country travel to California to compete in the annual contest. This year's winner receives a feature dancing contract to perform at all Spearmint Rhino clubs in the U.S. and Canada. She also earns $5,000 cash and receives a diamond and gold custom Rhino necklace (provided by Capri Jewelers of LA). The winning dancer will also be given a $5,000 gift certificate from Dr. John Anastasatos, a professional photo shoot with a portfolio and a $1,500 gift certificate to the Spearmint Rhino Superstore. There is more than $40,000 in cash and prizes at stake.
Star, from Lexington, Ky., won the 2007 Entertainer of the Year title.
Last Thursday Raven came on stage wielding a chainsaw and stripped out of her construction worker outfit as the crowd showered her with dollar bills.
Her upbeat set included some high-wire pole tricks and some shows of flexibility as she was the only dancer of the six to execute full splits.
Vivica, from the Spearmint Rhino's home club in City of Industry, Calif., took second place with her sensual "Phantom of the Opera" show. She will also advance to the finals. Meanwhile, Kristina from the Rialto, Calif., club placed third with her entertaining tribute to the classic 80's movie "Flashdance."
Sandra Starr from Torrance, Priscilla from the Rhino Van Nuys and Tanner from Rouge in Van Nuys rounded out the close field in Round 4.
