To her own surprise especially, RatedHot owner Marsha Youngs was named Webmaster of the Year for 2003 by AdultChamber.com during Internext, edging out three other quarterly winners including YNOTMasters' Jay Kopita.
"Oh, my God, I was so shocked that I did win," Youngs told AVNOnline.com. "I cried like a baby."
Youngs bought RatedHot.com in early 2003 and was named Webmaster of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2003 after making the Webmaster recource site her number one focus, shifting away from a preponderance of the activities which kept her occupied since she first became part of the adult Internet in 1999.
Typically for her, Youngs credited those who support her site and work for her win. "I had always considered myself a winner simply because I have so many excellent friends and Webmasters that support me," she said, "especially over the last year with the changes I went through."
Asked what she thought was the deciding factor in the Webmaster of the Year voters going with her, Youngs said she had absolutely no idea.
"I know in the end the sponsors had the deciding votes," she said. "Maybe they just saw how hard I do work? It's hard to answer, because I don't like to brag too much on myself. Well, a tad is okay, but you know me. I think with me it's just proof postive that hard work does pay off. I treat people like I would want to be treated. And I try to make them feel good about themselves they way everyone should."
Youngs should be feeling good about the prizes she won as Webmaster of the Year. As Webmaster of the Quarter, she already won a certificate, wireless headphones from Advertising-Link.com, $1,000 in free content from Cool Piranha, and a bonus gift from Advertising Revenue Service. As Webmaster of the Year, she wins a vacation for two at Hedonism III in Jamaica, $1,500 cash for airfare and spending, a Viewsonic 17-inch flatscreen monitor, and a Hewlett-Packard PhotoSmart 4.1-megapixel digital camera, donated by ARS.
