Python Pictures Is At It Again With <I>Stuff Hard</I>

After the first edition of Maximum Hard, a porn that parodied popular men's magazine Maxim, sold 4500 copies in one week, Python Pictures owner James Melendy realized he was on to something good. He decided to make magazine parodies what his company was known for - and launched a second series with the same concept - but parodying a different magazine.

As Maximum Hard parodied the cover of Maxim, down to the pose of the cover model, Stuff Hard will parody Stuff - another popular men's magazine.

"I just like the concept of magazine cover parodies for box covers," Melendy told AVN.com. "It helps them stand out from other titles."

Every month Python Films will release one title for both series. Eventually Melendy hopes to have four magazine parody series, though he hasn't decided on which magazine to parody next.

The cover of Maximum Hard helped the new production get some exposure on national TV - they recently taped a segment for The Anna Nicole Show.

"Thank Dion at Redlight for it because he helped me get on there. They were actually interviewing him and he was bragging about the boxcover. He invited me over to pitch our line and our product," said Melendy

Still, Melendy doesn't think that his sales all come from the box cover. "We had a lot of support from our distributors - Movie Gallery, IVD, GVA Cleveland - the big boys really helped me out and I appreciate it," he said.

The first edition of Stuff Hard shoots this weekend. Caily Tayler, Daisy, Ashley Long, Sara Reed, Cherry Laine will perform in the video, with Corey Jordan directing.

Python Pictures is distributed by Anarchy Films.
