Pure Play Media Sets Up in Europe

Pure Play Media CEO Richard Arnold told AVN.com that when his company set up shop in Germany that it was looking to begin doing business with all of Europe. “I think it’s unique that a company would go over to Europe and handle all the business themselves, first hand, rather than make deals with European companies from over seas.”

With some deals in the closed German-speaking VOD environment already under its belt, Arnold said the recent deals have already positively effected the companies numbers. He went on to say that in only its second month of operation, Pure Play Media Europe GmbH (PPME) has also enjoyed an impressive debut at the Venus Fair in Berlin.

“Our operation is based out of Hamburg, Germany, and we’re trying then to secure solid distribution in virtually every major European territory,” he continued.

“I could not be happier with the results coming out of our European office — these results being directly attributed to the strong management skill of PPME President Tobias Bauer and the crack staff that he has managed to assemble,” said Arnold.

“I feel that the move to operating our own European office will have a tremendous payoff for the long term performance of Pure Play Media with the benefits being shared by its studio partners.

The company opened its European office in August. The office serves the European DVD market and well as internet VOD, plus cable, satellite and Telco broadcast sales throughout the region. All of Pure Play Media’s current and future studios are handled by the European office with the exception of Private Media Group and the Score Group. Private is based in Europe and Score will continue distribution through their long standing European partner.

“If early results are an indication of future success, then things look very bright for PPME.”
