Pure Play Media Inks Distribution Deal With Erotic Media AG

Pure Play Media Inc. has signed publicly traded Swiss adult company Erotic Media AG (EM) to a North American distribution deal. The first titles from the deal will be released next week.

EM is a well-known entity in Europe, as a producer of original adult content as well as an adult cable operator that licenses adult content from other producers.

"Our plan is to make EM the next European power house. With the stunning Euro girls and the high end productions making this company the next juggernaut is more than exciting and inevitable," Richard Arnold, CEO of Pure Play Media Inc, said in a statement announcing the deal.

Arnold sees uncanny similarities between EM and Private, the first European powerhouse to move into the U.S. market - and he should know, considering that prior to forming Pure Play Media with Michael Ninn, he served as the head of the Private North America.

Both EM and Private are publicly traded, involved in both video and cable, and both specialize in high-end adult products that feature European women.

Pure Play doesn't intend to distribute every title in EM's catalog, preferring to cherry pick as well as take on new titles as they are produced. Over fifty EM titles are already lined up for release in the United States, starting with the release of Emotion and Perceptions, both directed by Salvo Di Liberto, on January 28.

"We're going to pick the titles that translate to this market. Arnold's experience with Private certainly helped him understand which European projects will work best Stateside, but other than that we're going to go with the basis that we know will work - like taking the titles with the hottest women," T.J DiReda, director of marketing and pr for Pure Play, told AVN.com.

A 25 percent stake in Erotic Media AG is owned by Beate Uhse, one of the largest adult entertainment companies in the world, best known for their chain of over 200 adult retail stores spread throughout Europe.
