Pure Play Media has announced the opening of a new European division. Pure Play Media Europe is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pure Play Media Holdings Inc. (parent to Pure Play Media) with an office located in Germany, and will serve all of the European market.
The company said that a Hamburg, Germany location was chosen because it is centrally located. Pure Play Media added that the European office will be run by European staff, and will not just be an American office located in Europe. Although Pure Play Media’s CEO Richard Arnold and company President Sieg Badke both have some European heritage, they said that they felt it was best to leave the day to day operations up to a team of European personal that know and understand the territory.
"One of the most important aspects of launching a good business is to be in the right place at the right time,” said Pure Play Media Europe President, Tobias Bauer. “In times of changing markets, myself and our team are glad to have the opportunity to run the European office of a company with strong products and a good reputation."
The office will be run by Bauer, and will serve the European DVD market and also service internet VOD, plus cable, satellite and Telco broadcast sales throughout the region. All of Pure Play Media’s current and future studios will be handled by this European office with the exception of Private Media Group and the Score Group. Private is based in Europe and Score will continue distribution through their long standing European partner.

Pure Play Media Europe will begin distributing product in Europe in September and will be following Pure Play Media's release schedule very closely. The company said that the idea is to create global release dates and global pricing, so that product does not migrate from territory to territory.
“We have found that the adult industry is a global business and there are plenty of companies that have learned to take advantage of pricing or street date discrepancies in different territories, so our plan is to neutralize these advantages,” continued Arnold.
“We also feel that the lines that we carry, Seymore Butts, Cousin Stevie, Naughty America, Suze Randall, Asia Bootleg and Swank Digital are recognized and in demand in Europe and will translate well to that market.”
