CHATSWORTH, Calif. – Pure Play Media was named Best New U.S. Distributor at the 2007 Venus Fair Awards in Berlin, Germany over the weekend.
Pure Play Media GmbH opened in August 2006 utilizing all platforms of distribution, including DVD, Online, Mobile and VOD to sell and promote its various studio partners, which consist of Homegrown Video, Naughty America, Seymore Butts, Swank, Asia Bootleg and Cousin Stevie.
“I am extremely proud of the initial accomplishments we have made in the European marketplace,” Pure Play Media CEO Richard Arnold. “We work with some of the best studios in the business and have an incredible staff led by [President] Tobias Bauer. I wanted Pure Play to have a comprehensive global presence and moving into Europe obviously played a part in that plan. Winning a Venus Award as Best New U.S. Distributor is a nice validation of that vision.”
Pure Play Media-distributed Homegrown Video and Swank were also honored as part of the ceremonies. Homegrown was recognized as the Best Amateur Label and Swank Digital as Best U.S. Newcomer Label.
Homegrown CEO Moffit T. took the stage to accept for Homegrown. “One of the advantages of getting on board with Pure Play was knowing we would be represented heavily in Europe,” he said. “European consumers have really embraced the Homegrown brand and concept and it’s an incredible accomplishment to see our product acknowledged as the Best Amateur Label in its first true year in the market.”
Naughty America girls Puma Swede and Ava Devine met fans and signed autographs at the Pure Play Media booth.
“Everyone from the fans to the media enjoyed meeting Puma and Ava,” said Arnold. “They brought a great energy to our booth. Venus Fair 2007 was a huge success for Pure Play Media. Winning the awards was fantastic, but we also got to do some solid business with our existing customers, made some new customers and had a lot of productive meetings. I am very pleased with our first year in Europe and I look forward to growing our business and having continued successes.”
