ProfitLab Bets on RSS

Adult-to-mainstream marketing consultancy ProfitLab is betting on Really Simple Syndication (RSS) with the launch of RSSextickers.com, a service that allows webmasters to display scrolling RSS feeds on their sites.

ProfitLab president Jack Mardack views RSS feeds as way for affiliate programs to feed their webmasters and for webmasters to cross promote sites.

“RSS is going to become the defacto mechanism for webmasters and bloggersgetting the most out of the content they create and control, andprograms, content owners, and people who want to trade content for traffic [while] keeping their affiliates happy and their sites fresh,”Mardack said.

Users can feed any URL into their RSSextickers, where it will be displayed as a dynamic scroll. The feeds are managed through a simple interface, and appearance is fully customizable.

RSSextickers.com hosts the feeds at a cost of about $6 per 10,000 feed impressions.

“The pricing is an absolute giveaway,” Mardack said. “I want the value impression of this service to be overwhelming. Adult is often slow to adopt even the best ideas from the mainstream. I’m hoping that the price-point will make this a no-brainer for the traditionally unresponsive community my company has pledged to serve and help survive.”
