Prof Using "Obscene" Videos May Cost University State Millions

A prize-winning professor who teaches a human sexuality course at the University of Kansas could end up costing the university millions if the state Senate has its way. They want to withold the money because he "obscene" videos among his course materials.

The Senate voted 24-13 March 26 to withold $3.1 million from the university's School of Social Welfare unless it prohibits the purchase of such videos by Prof. Dennis Dailey, KCTV-5 News reported. University spokesman Todd Cohen told reporters no one had ever complained about Dailey's class or techniques in the past, but state Sen. Susan Wagle (R-Wichita) said one of his students told her Dailey not only showed pictures of genitalia on girls five and ten years old but told his female students to explore their own genitalia as homework.

"I think what is going on in this undergraduate class is obscene and I want to make this type of activity not funded by the taxpayer," the senator told reporters.

Ironically, Dailey is also leading a weeklong seminar version of his semester-long course for the university's Ecumenical Christian Ministries and other religious groups.
